Training Canterbury Netball is a training club, with the expectation that Year 4 to 9 participate in 1 hour training sessions weekly and Year 10 to Open attend monthly specialist sessions. Training occurs on Wednesday afternoons at Boroondara Netball Centre and Monday afternoons (venue to be confirmed) - exact times are confirmed after team registration is complete. Grading Our Year 4 teams are not graded and play in school and friendship groups while developing knowledge of teamwork and netball rules. The aim of grading Yr 5 to 9 is to form teams which have a balanced group of players of similar ability across all playing positions. We select teams to ensure the best chance of success, the greatest level of enjoyment and the highest potential for individual player development during each season. The process is also influenced by the number of registered players in any particular season or age group.
Expression of Interest If you are interested in joining Canterbury Netball Club please fill out the form below. All new players are asked to attend a training session to meet fellow players and coaches. Canterbury Netball maintains a wait list of players if there are not enough registrations to create a full team.
Canterbury Netball Netball Club is a community sports organisation run by volunteers. Fees are calculated each year to cover the cost of team entries, court fees, equipment and administration costs. As a gesture of the club's appreciation to it's volunteers - a nominal fee is paid to the coaches and umpires each year. The club also supports coaches and umpires by covering the costs of accreditation courses (this helps develop skills and qualifications that in turn benefits the members of the club).
