Community netball is generally played outdoors and sometimes can be delayed or cancelled due to extreme weather. Extreme weather is considered excessive heat, high winds, rain, hail and lightning. Canterbury Netball Club observes the extreme weather warnings and any advice given by Netball Victoria. Training Whilst the club makes every effort to train in all scheduled time slots, should conditions become unmanageable due to weather conditions (rain or heat), the club has a duty-of-care to it's players and officials and will either postpone a particular time slot or cancel training for that year level or all year levels. The club will contact Team Managers who will then contact their teams with notification of cancellation. Games Delays or cancellations on match day are the decision of Boroondara Netball Association. Parents and players are advised to monitor the BNA website and/or keep in touch with your team manager/coach. Do not assume a match is cancelled because it is raining when you leave home. Some matches are started halfway through the 1st quarter if the rain clears. Collection of players Once you drop your child off, please monitor weather conditions and ensure you are contactable and available to pick-up your child should training or games be cancelled. All trainings will have a senior member of the coaching group supervising players and they will remain until all players leave, however it is your responsibility to collect your child on time.
